Briefly describe an average work day for you at LiquidPlanner:

I know this might sound a little cliché’, but it’s very hard to describe an average day here at LiquidPlanner. Every day I have the opportunity to attack new problems, talk with different kinds of folks, and get the creative juices flowing!

How did you know LiquidPlanner was the perfect fit for you?

I spent the last couple of years of my career looking for a company that I could call home. After spending time in the financial sector, the wine industry, and real estate marketing, I finally found LiquidPlanner. I knew this was the place for me when I first walked in and saw the core values written on the wall, displaying: Have the courage to change; Always be learning; Be disciplined in action, and Service first.

How do you stay productive and focused during the day?

When you work with such talented and driven people, it’s difficult not to stay focused. I see people putting in their blood, sweat, and tears day in and day out. The people I work with believe in our cause and show it through their actions. I never want to put myself in a position to let them down. Therefore, I make sure I’m focused, productive and ready to deliver positive results.

What do you appreciate the most in your co-workers?

The people I work with are so positive. Whenever I might be having an “OK” day, it’s very refreshing to get a smile and a “How are you!”

Do you have a ritual or routine to the start of your workday?

Coffee. Nothing else.

Your idea of happiness at work is:

Helping people and putting a smile on someone’s face.

What book has most influenced your career?

How I Raised Myself From a Failure to a Success in Selling,” by Frank Bettger.

Interview tips for anyone looking for a job right now?

Keep on keeping on! It’s tough out there, and it’s difficult to find the job of your dreams. Keep on chugging along and working hard. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by what you can find when you least expect it.

A few things you do outside the office?

I enjoy many things outside of the office, especially when it involves being around friends and family. That said, I love meeting up with old friends on Friday nights and watching sports. I also enjoy getting outside as well, especially being in the Pacific Northwest. There are a ton of great hiking spots and ski resorts to take advantage of.
