Latest Release | Support for Jira Epic and Hierarchy Groups
Latest Release | October 8, 2024
Grouping items by Jira Epics and Hierarchies has been one of the most popular requests related to Jira Integration. We added support for Epics and Hierarchies in this release, and so now when integrating a Jira instance with Portfolio Manager (formerly LiquidPlanner), you can pull in your tasks and organize them in one of three ways:
- Flat List: Pulls tasks in a flat list in the project. Tasks are not sorted into folders.
- Epic-Based Sub-folders: Creates a sub-folder for each Epic (level 1) with their issue (child) tasks inside the folder. If an issue does not belong to an Epic then it resides at the top level (the same level as the folders).
- Hierarchical Sub-folders (requires a Jira Premium or Enterprise subscription): Creates a sub-folder for each custom hierarchical issue type. An example would be for level 1 and above, such as for an Initiative, Feature, and Epic, with child items nested within the corresponding type. This option will only display if the instance you have selected is on a Jira Premium or Enterprise subscription.
This new feature allows agile teams to work faster in Portfolio Manager using the hierarchies that they have implemented in their Jira projects. With a Jira integration, teams will benefit from predictive scheduling, real-time scenario modeling, and advanced resource management, ensuring they stay on track no matter what challenges arise. We have prepared a comprehensive lesson in the Academy to guide you through how to set up and use the Jira integration.
