Latest Release | Push New Tasks to Jira
Latest Release | December 16, 2024
We have added an exciting feature to our Jira integration. You can now create new tasks in Portfolio Manager and push them directly to Jira in a synced project. This new feature bridges the gap between Portfolio Manager and Jira, allowing you to add tasks in Portfolio Manager and update Jira projects seamlessly, saving time and improving collaboration for your team.
Find the first part of the feature in the Sync Settings screen of the Jira integration wizard.
Sync Settings Screen: Push New Tasks to Jira
You can select from the following options:
- No Push: The default option. Disable the ability to push new tasks to Jira.
- Manual Push: Select new tasks and push them to Jira manually.
After you select your Sync Settings, you will move forward to a new and improved Field Mapping screen.
Field Mapping Screen
The second part of the feature is in the field mapping screen.
Select +Jira Field to add additional Jira fields that you would like to map to Portfolio Manager. Select +Portfolio Manager Field to add additional Portfolio Manager fields that you would like to map to Portfolio Manager. Read more about field mapping in the Academy.

These fields must be mapped and filled in Portfolio Manager before pushing tasks. Select the drop-down menus to view any blue icons.
After Sync
With Manual Push selected, you can now push new tasks to Jira in any synced project. After you create the tasks, select them and then use the drop-down menu under the Jira Integration button. Select Push selected New Tasks to Jira to push the tasks. The number of tasks that will be sent is also displayed.
You can send up to 50 new tasks. New tasks are created as issues in Jira and their corresponding issue key is pulled into the issue key on the task in Portfolio Manager. Supported Issue Types include:
- Tasks
- Stories
- Bugs
- Epics
- Features and
