Latest Release | Story Point Planning
Latest Release | November 12, 2024
We are excited to introduce Story Points for planning and tracking work. Story points are enabled through Story Point Schemes, which map points to ranged estimates, capturing the complexity and uncertainty involved. When a story point is applied to a brand new task, an assignment row is created with an estimate, and work schedules are created as soon as a team member is assigned. Story Points can also come in through the Jira Integration, where mapping to a scheme enables predictive scheduling across any task that has a story point estimate.
Manage Story Point Schemes in Administration
Navigate to Administration in the left-side menu of your workspace and find the Story Point Schemes tile. Each workspace starts with a default Story Point Scheme that can be customized, and additional schemes can be created as needed.
Use +Story Point Scheme to create a new scheme. Hover over the menu for any scheme to edit settings, duplicate or delete. The default scheme is available for tasks in any project, throughout the workspace. When new schemes are created they can be explicitly associated with a project to ensure teams use a scheme that represents their shared understanding of story point size.
Story Points in the Jira Integration
Story Points are an Estimation Type in the Remaining Estimates step of the Jira Integration. There are three options for mapping story points:
- Create a new scheme
- Copy an existing scheme
- Use the default scheme
